Customer Reviews:
5 out of 5 stars This is a good set. Plenty of variety.   February 6, 2010

First off, I always say when doing these reviews: YOU NEED THE 1939-1945 STARTER BEFORE YOU BUY THIS!

Now for this product:
It is always difficult reviewing these boosters since they are randomized. However, the miniatures I have gotten from this line have been very good. I have gotten two packs from this line and have been very satisfied with them. Indeed, this last pack I got was the best I have ever gotten. None of the miniatures were useless. Indeed, the other pack was very good too. If current prices make this a good deal, by all means buy it. There is plenty of variety and good chance of getting a massive tank. Indeed, from this pack I got a Panther (37 pts), my first axis tank that cost more than 17 pts and wasn't a cracker box. This is a good set.

5 out of 5 stars Great Addition to the Axis & Allies Collectible Miniature Game   February 5, 2010
M. Mierzwa (Davis, CA USA)
This item is a booster pack of 5 random small scale miniatures for the Axis and Allies Collectible Miniature Game. The Eastern Front expansion is the 7th major booster release, and 3rd release that incorporates the larger scale vehicles and tanks. The theme of this booster is based around the countries and conflicts centered around eastern Europe in the later half of World War II.

This is among my favorite expansions because in addition to introducing Finland into the game, many mechanized German, Russian, and Italian pieces help round out these key armies and Hungary and Romanian see significant additions to their roster of available units. Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and a few units from the United States are also present in this set (no Japan). There are no aircraft units in this expansion.

I personally like how the tanks and vehicles are roughly in the same scale as the infantry units, and the smaller size of all of these game pieces allow me to amass an army that takes little to no space (ideal for people who are crunched on space). This set marked a change in the card design, where the front of the card no longer features a unit silhouette. Instead the front of each card is branded with the A&A logo and a bar with the expansion name. Personally, I wish the A&A Minis would take a nod from their War at Sea counterpart and move the historical notes from the bottom of the back side of the cards to the front. Alas, I'm being picky. I've bought many of these boosters and always have been pleased with my random draw.
