With rules similar to gin rummy, Rummikub is a classic tile game that's guaranteed to get at least a million kid-hours of use in any family. Players take 14 numbered tiles and try to get rid of them as fast as possible by creating runs (for example, 7-8-9) and sets (7-7-7). The most fun aspect of the game--and the part that's best for creative strategic thinking--is that you can pilfer from and rearrange the efforts of other players in your attempts to part company with more tiles. We love this game. Our family plays it all the time together and it is really a lot of fun. I recommend this game.

I bought this game after playing it for the first time at my sister's house. My 9 year old daughter was able to pick up on the intricacies of the game and win 2 out of 5 games. This did amazing things for her self-esteem, as she won over her older brother, mom and dad.
I am happy to have found a game the family can play and all of us be on an equal playing field.
Great Game and can be very challenging November 24, 2008
We love to play Rummikub and find it very challenging at times to see all the possible moves. We had to buy a timer to keep it moving since it can take alot of thought for some moves. We have had this set for 3 years and the painted numbers are starting to wear off since we play it so much. I do agree with the earlier review that the colors can be hard to tell apart. Lots of fun for adults and adolescents, and probably too difficult for many younger children without assistance.
Fun for ALL ages! October 14, 2008
This is a wonderful game, everyone in our family loves it, from the youngest (7 year old) to their grandparents (in their seventies). It's a great thinking game that takes the kids away from the TV and video games.
