3 out of 5 stars Good project to do with kids   January 8, 2009
My 5 yr old loves this, and all Lego projects. Built it on his own, though needed a bit of help finding pieces, as the smaller, microscopic(haha) ones do look alike. Also, the picture instructions are in color, but black appears more of a dark grey color, which can be confusing, as there ARE dark grey pieces too. There was also a 'typo' towards the end. It called for a certain piece, though we eventually figured out that another one was needed instead. Sorry- I don't have the book with me so I don't know which page it was- I think the last page.

One more gripe- TOO MANY EXTRA PIECES! You'd think that'd be a good thing, but what the heck are we supposed to do with those odd pieces? If it were a complete set of something or a character, we could incorporate it into the theme, but they're all random pieces, so...

Otherwise, Legos are a good project for kids and adults alike. Teaches patience, how to read/follow instructions, organizing pieces, and kids are so proud when project is completed. Though I might add- this/these Lego projects are smaller pieces, so as far as playing with the finished product: don't. These are more for display purposes, or at least play with them GENTLY. Parts are meant to be movable, but do fall apart easily.

Ooh one more thing: It does get a bit annoying to finish one step of project, only to find out at the end you need to make 2 or more of same item, but maybe facing other direction. There's where the 'patience' part is needed, haha! As for the cost of this set- it is costly. But heck- being Legos, you can take it apart and keep rebuilding it, for decades to come. But why...

5 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Buy For Your Money   December 31, 2008

This Lego is good for its money. I own the Lego Gunship and this is bigger with a sturdier frame. The characters go fantastic with this lego. In my opinion the turrents are the best part of this lego. Although why did the model makers have to make parts to the inside temporary? The two seats can be pulled out and are not attached. Although you can make it attached by adding a 2x4 piece to it. If your a big Star Wars fan and are looking to save money this is a great buy!

5 out of 5 stars Not Perfect, but Pretty Awesome   December 29, 2008

My 8-year-old received this toy for Christmas. He spent about 8 hours putting it together Christmas Day, only needing minor help once or twice, and hardly looked at any other present until he finished it. Here's his review:

I'd say this set is awesome - not perfect, but pretty close. It fits a pilot, a squad of four, and I put in two operators for guns and missiles. I realized that taking out the four-person squad seats could make room for nine. It is cool on the outside and inside. It holds up pretty well when I play with it. The cockpit falls apart sometimes, the doors may come off, the guns and cannons come off and putting the missiles back makes pieces fall off sometimes but besides that it is awesome!

-Paul, 8 years old

3 out of 5 stars Good, but missing pieces   December 27, 2008
The set was just what my boys wanted. They love it and built immediately on Christmas day. However, there were several pieces missing that they had to replace with what they had. It wasn't exact, but it was do-able.

5 out of 5 stars Great for my Star Wars fanatic!   November 24, 2008

Just what my son wanted for his birthday! He actually plays with it everyday, along with his other Lego Star Wars sets. He was so excited to get it , he put it together by himself in 2 hours. 700+ pieces.
