Dominion: Seaside from Rio Grande Games is the 2nd addition to the original Dominion game. Dominion: Seaside may be played with the original Dominion or the Dominion: Intrigue Expansion Set but does not contain enough material for a complete game. This new set adds 26 new Kingdom cards. Its central theme is your next turn; there are cards that do something this turn and next as well as cards that set up your next turn. This set provides several ways to step outside of the bounds of a normal turn. Set sail on dangerous, pirate-infested waters to establish lucrative trade at far-off merchant-infested ports. First, youâll take over some islands, as a foothold. Build a rapport with the natives and make use of the weapons they supply. Conquer ports and look for more rivers to access. One day, all the rivers will be yours. Specifically, this set does not include the Treasure, Victory, Curse, or Trash cards needed to play Dominion. Thus, you will need either the base game or Intrigue to play with this expansion and have experience playing Dominion with either of the first two games. It is designed to work with either or both of these sets, and any future expansions that may be published.

Please note that this is NOT a full expansion (ie, it does not contain the treasure/victory cards required to play), therefore you will need either the Dominion or Dominion Intrigue to play. There is one more expansion to the Dominion series called Dominion Alchemy(Also not a stand-alone game). The replayability of this game makes it a must have for any gamer.
The only downside to these games is the eventual wear on the cards that get played every time (victory and treasure cards), but if you do a good job of shuffeling them between the Original and Intrigue, they will last a long while.

Seaside is much more fun to play than Intrigue was. Very well designed expansion to a fun pick up game. If you have the base set, pick this up.
Great family game - get the card sleeves as well June 10, 2010

Our family loves this game. We have it and the original Dominion. My 7 year old daughter likes it and can easily play it, although her strategies are less than ideal. She has managed to win a few times though! My 12 year old son usually wins among our family members. Be sure to get the card sleeves to protect the cards. There is a lot of shuffling and other manipulation of the cards, and they will be worn out in no time if you don't.
EXPANSION to Original Dominion Game April 30, 2010

Was unaware at time of purchasing that this 3rd issue of Dominion (SEASIDE) is an expansion game!! I had played Dominion before, and became instantly addicted, however, did NOT OWN the original Dominion myself. It would have been helpful to know this version of Dominion was an expansion, otherwise would've purchased the original, and then following in order. Just a tiny tid-bit to others who may miss that! Enjoy your Dominion time!

The basic Dominion game has been my husband's and my favorite since we got it a few months ago, and the Seaside expansion makes it even more interesting! Definitely recommend it if you've enjoyed the basic game.
